Peace is not just the absence of war, but living with mutual respect: Chief Minister Sindh

In his message on the International Day of Living Together in Peace, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday stressed that in the current era of global conflicts, there is a greater need for tolerance and dialogue than ever before.

He said that true peace goes beyond the mere absence of war, and defined it as a state of “living with mutual respect”.

The Chief Minister said that respect for different religions, cultures, and languages provides the foundation for a peaceful society.

Referring to the province’s history, Shah described Sindh as “always a symbol of tolerance, forbearance, and harmony”.

He termed education an important tool for promoting peaceful coexistence among people.

Shah also stressed collective action, saying that “everyone must play their part for a safe and inclusive world”.

He reiterated his government’s commitment, stating that “creating a society based on peace and justice in accordance with the principles of the United Nations is our priority”.
