In a significant move to ensure accountability for the Gul Plaza tragedy, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has formally requested the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court to initiate a full-scale judicial investigation into the incident.
In a letter dispatched to the province’s top judge, the governor advocated for the formation of a transparent and impartial Judicial Inquiry Commission, tasked with the critical mandate of ascertaining the facts surrounding the event and assigning responsibility, according to a statement today.
Governor Tessori asserted that the gravity of the Gul Plaza tragedy necessitates an independent and credible investigation so that justice can be ensured and the culpable parties are held answerable for their actions.
He further emphasised that transparency and impartiality in the investigative process are paramount to restoring public confidence in the wake of the disaster.
Reaffirming his commitment to the victims, Governor Tessori conveyed that he stands in solidarity with the affected families and pledged his continued support for all measures aimed at delivering both justice and relief to those impacted by the tragedy.
