Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor has warned that if alleged Indian conspiracies continue, Pakistan will intensify its retaliation, turning India’s “Operation Sindoor” into “Operation Tandoor.”
Addressing an executive committee meeting on Wednesday on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Shakoor asserted that Kashmir is the “unfinished agenda of Pakistan’s existence” and declared that the time for its completion has come, urging an end to the “apologetic attitude” on the matter.
The PDP chairman called for the immediate release of all detained Kashmiri leaders, including Yasin Malik, and demanded a plebiscite be held to ascertain the opinion of the Kashmiri people in the disputed territory.
Shakoor labeled India a “terrorist state both internally and externally,” whose “heinous face” must be exposed globally. He advocated for Pakistan to leverage its growing international influence to resolve the long-standing dispute, criticizing India for reneging on UN Security Council resolutions.
He suggested that Pakistan should emulate China’s growing role in Ladakh and adopt a similar approach in Kashmir, suggesting that the state should provide support to Kashmiri leaders in their diplomatic efforts abroad.
Shakoor justified Pakistan’s stance by alleging ongoing Indian infiltration into Pakistani territories and patronage of separatist movements, questioning how Pakistan could abandon its “legitimate struggle” under such circumstances. He also claimed that lakhs of Kashmiri youths have been killed by the Indian army.
The party leader cited historical grievances, accusing India of violating the agreed-upon formula of the Partition of India, which he termed an “aggressive occupation” of Kashmir, Hyderabad Deccan, and Junagadh. He further alleged that historical consensus points to India’s key role in the dismemberment of Pakistan.
