Need to further strengthen relations between Pakistan, Egypt, and Al-Azhar University: Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan

The Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan has reiterated the mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, identifying the renowned Al-Azhar University as a central pillar for enhancing academic, religious, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

This was stated during a meeting in Islamabad on Sunday between the Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Abdelhamid, and Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari, a member of the Council of Islamic Ideology and President of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates (Pakistan Chapter). The discussion followed Dr. Al-Azhari’s recent successful diplomatic and academic visit to Egypt.

Ambassador Abdelhamid congratulated Dr. Al-Azhari on his visit and emphasized that the relations between the two countries are built on deep historical, religious, and cultural foundations. He described Al-Azhar University as a “strong academic and spiritual bridge” and expressed his commitment to further expanding educational and religious cooperation.

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Azhari thanked the ambassador and his team for the support provided during his visit to Egypt. He affirmed that Al-Azhar University is a distinguished academic center in the Islamic world, and association with this institution is a matter of pride for Pakistani academics and students. He added that promoting this partnership will lead to significant progress in academic, research, and training fields.

According to a statement from the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates (Pakistan Chapter), the meeting concluded with both dignitaries reiterating their commitment to sustain joint efforts to deepen the religious, educational, and cultural ties that connect Pakistan and Egypt.
