Pakistan Proposes Strategic Alliance with Bangladesh in Education, Technology, and Commerce

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has called for a significant enhancement of bilateral ties with Bangladesh, proposing a strategic partnership focused on education, digital skills, and economic integration.

Speaking at a gathering at North South University in Dhaka on Wednesday, the minister emphasised the critical need for the two nations to bolster their relationship through academic and commercial cooperation.

Mr Iqbal outlined a multi-pronged approach for this enhanced partnership, advocating for the sharing of research platforms between institutions in both countries to foster innovation and knowledge exchange.

He further proposed the joint development of digital skill initiatives, a move aimed at preparing the youth of both nations for the demands of the global technology-driven economy.

In a push for greater economic synergy, the minister also highlighted the necessity of connecting the burgeoning startup ecosystems of Pakistan and Bangladesh and looking towards the integration of their respective supply chains.
