IGP Orders Swift, Merit-Based Resolution of Public Complaints in the Capital

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi today mandated all Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers to strictly observe designated office hours for public interaction, issuing on-the-spot directives to ensure the prompt and merit-based resolution of citizen complaints.

The instructions were issued during an open court session held at the Central Police Office, part of an ongoing open-door policy designed to directly address public and departmental grievances.

During the public forum, the police chief personally listened to the concerns of various citizens and police personnel, providing immediate instructions to the relevant officials for their redressal.

Emphasising that the timely and fair settlement of public issues is the force”s paramount priority, the IGP reiterated that his doors remain open to any resident with a police-related problem.

In response to specific applications from citizens, the IGP ordered concerned officers to conclude inquiries on merit within a stipulated timeframe and to submit a formal report of their actions to the Central Police Office.

The IGP further stated that such daily open courts are a significant component of the Islamabad Police”s strategy to enhance citizen facilitation and are instrumental in resolving matters on a priority basis.
