Top Pakistani and Emirati diplomats have committed to translating the long-standing friendship between their nations into tangible economic outcomes, focusing on boosting investment and trade, following a high-level meeting at the UAE Embassy on Thursday.
Advisor to the Chairman Senate, Misbah Khar, met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, His Excellency Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, to reinforce the fraternal ties between the two countries, according to an official report today.
The discussions were described as comprehensive and forward-looking, with a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in investment promotion, parliamentary engagement, trade expansion, and deepening people-to-people contacts.
Ms. Khar, who also serves as Secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), provided the Ambassador with a detailed briefing on recent official tours undertaken by Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani, with a particular focus on his significant engagements in the UAE. She underscored the importance of these interactions for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy.
The UAE Ambassador commended Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote collaboration and institutional linkages among parliamentary leaders. He congratulated Ms. Khar on the successful organisation of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference recently hosted in Pakistan and conveyed his best wishes to Chairman Senate Gilani.
Additionally, Ms. Khar apprised the Ambassador of the preparations for the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, highlighting its role as a vital platform for fostering legislative collaboration and multilateral engagement.
