The District Council Sukkur has announced a new initiative, the “Sukkur District People’s IT Program,” under which government funds will be provided for students’ innovative projects, along with a promise to provide additional laptops to promote technological advancement at Sukkur IBA University.
This announcement was made by the Chairman of District Council Sukkur, Syed Kumail Haider Shah, during his visit to the university campus on Wednesday. During his visit, he formally inaugurated two modern information technology laboratories dedicated to data science.
After a detailed inspection of the new facilities, the Chairman praised the university’s high standards. He stated that in view of the institution’s excellent performance, the District Council will provide more laptops, with an initial distribution of 25 devices planned for the first phase.
During the event, 261 laptops were also distributed among the university’s students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Asif Sheikh, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and other faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Asif Sheikh affirmed that the university adheres to high standards of merit and mentioned that its students are earning substantial income through online businesses.
In his concluding remarks, Chairman Shah praised the university administration’s effective strategy and urged the students to take full advantage of modern technology to enhance their skills and play an active role in the country’s development.
