Five members of the same family, including four young girls, were killed when the roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rain on Monday morning in a village in Havelian tehsil.
According to police sources, the devastating incident occurred at the residence of Sohail Awan and Mazhar Awan in Mohalla Khetar of Haji Gali village. Due to the roof collapse caused by heavy rain, Sohail Awan, son of Muhammad Ashraf, died on the spot along with all four girls.
Four other people were also injured in the tragedy. Among the injured, Mazhar Awan and his wife are seriously injured and have been shifted to a hospital in Abbottabad for immediate medical attention.
The local police, under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) Tanveer Khan, along with local residents, immediately started rescue operations and pulled the victims from the rubble. The deceased and the injured were initially shifted to Havelian Hospital.
