President Asif Ali Zardari has demanded the interim government of Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan following a recent security operation in North Waziristan.
The remarks were made by the head of state today while appreciating the security personnel for a successful intelligence-based operation in the region, which resulted in the killing of eight militants, referred to as “Khawarij”.
President Zardari commended the professionalism of the forces in carrying out an effective and timely mission against the insurgents.
In his statement, the President said that the services of the security institutions for the defense of the country and the protection of its borders are highly commendable. He said, “The role of the security forces in defending the homeland and protecting its borders is a matter of pride.”
