Pakistan and Trkiye Vow to Strengthen Defence Industry and Military Cooperation

Top defence officials from Pakistan and Trkiye convened on Tuesday to fortify their strategic partnership, focusing on enhancing collaboration within the defence industry and military sectors.

The high-level discussions took place in the capital, where Pakistan”s Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, hosted General Levent Ergn, the Vice Chief of the Turkish General Staff. Minister Asif reaffirmed Pakistan”s dedication to its long-standing relationship with Trkiye, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership. He expressed appreciation for the increasing cooperation in areas such as joint military training and defence manufacturing.

General Ergn conveyed Trkiye’s keen interest in further expanding bilateral defence connections, underscoring a desire to broaden cooperation in areas of mutual interest while expressing gratitude for the hospitality shown to the Turkish delegation. The meeting also confirmed a close alignment in the diplomatic perspectives of both nations, with the dignitaries noting their shared outlook on significant regional and international affairs.

Both parties concluded the dialogue by expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations and pledged to maintain a schedule of close coordination and high-level engagements in the future.
