KARACHI: Pakistan's currency exchange rates displayed varied movements on April 8, 2026, with fluctuations observed across major foreign currencies including the US dollar, euro, and British pound.
According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the US dollar was bought at 279.50 PKR and sold at 280.32 PKR, reflecting a subtle change. The euro presented a wider gap, with buying and selling rates at 325.81 PKR and 329.11 PKR, respectively. The British pound experienced a similar pattern with rates at 374.54 PKR for buying and 378.38 PKR for selling.
The Japanese yen, United Arab Emirates dirham, and Saudi riyal also showed varied exchange rates. The yen was listed at 1.75 PKR for buying and 1.80 PKR for selling. The dirham's rates were 76.09 PKR for buying and 76.95 PKR for selling, while the Saudi riyal was at 74.44 PKR for buying and 75.21 PKR for selling.
Interbank rates for the US dollar were slightly lower, with buying at 279.05 PKR and selling at 279.25 PKR, indicating a modest difference compared to open market rates.
