Pakistan Cautions India on Destabilising Actions, Reaffirms Principled Stance

On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam incident, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani today robustly reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast position, strongly criticising India’s irresponsible conduct, escalation-oriented strategies, and its persistent efforts to misrepresent facts and deflect blame for regional unrest.

He underscored Pakistan’s display of utmost restraint despite severe provocations, stressing the nation”s full preparedness to uphold its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Mr. Gilani affirmed that Pakistan”s reaction during the recent standoff with India was calibrated, accountable, and entirely consistent with international legal frameworks.

The Chairman paid profound homage to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and determination, crediting their preparedness and deterrent capabilities with decisively safeguarding national sovereignty and thwarting adversarial designs within a volatile environment.

Mr. Gilani recalled Pakistan”s immediate offer for an impartial and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident, emphasising that only a credible, evidence-based inquiry could ascertain the facts and prevent further escalation. He observed that responsible nations refrain from unilateral judgments or politicising tragic occurrences.

He vehemently condemned India’s unilateral and adventurous manoeuvres, specifically citing “Operation Sindoor,” labelling them reckless and disruptive. The Chairman warned that such behaviour imperils regional peace and strategic equilibrium. Furthermore, he voiced grave apprehension regarding continued meddling and support for hostile elements operating against Pakistan, characterising these actions as a direct breach of sovereignty and international norms.

The Chairman also cautioned against endeavours to undermine the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that such coercive measures constitute a perilous escalation and pose risks to regional stability and resource security.

Reaffirming Pakistan”s stance, he stressed that while the nation remains dedicated to fostering peace, it will respond resolutely, proportionately, and definitively to any aggression or acts of adventurism.

Gilani affirmed that Pakistan would continue to protect its sovereignty and national interests with unwavering resolve, firmly countering any attempts to destabilise the region or misrepresent facts on the global stage.
