Allocation of a separate budget for schools in Ghotki District by the Government of Sindh

The Government of Sindh has allocated a separate budget for the schools in Ghotki District, aimed at addressing longstanding educational challenges. Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmed Kanrani announced this initiative during the meeting of the District Service Delivery Committee focused on educational reforms.

This budget is allocated for the repair of 135 schools and the provision of essential resources such as furniture and stationery. Headmasters have been encouraged to take proactive measures to improve their school environments, particularly to address the long-standing issue of furniture shortage that has been troubling students.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, District Education Officers (DEOs) for Secondary and Primary levels, Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Imran Ali Sial, and Taluka Education Officers (TEOs). Deputy Commissioner Kanrani emphasized that headmasters play a key role in the effective utilization of these funds.

He instructed the DEOs to report absentee teachers to the relevant authorities for potential legal action, highlighting the importance of accountability. CMO Sial highlighted the issue of consistent absenteeism, noting that 74 primary and 51 secondary school teachers are often absent, and reported that 286 school buildings are in a state of disrepair.

The meeting concluded with an appeal for headmasters to utilize all available resources to elevate educational standards and guide Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) on the prudent use of the newly allocated budget.
