The Meteorological Department has forecasted today that generally hot and dry weather will prevail in most parts of the country. The heatwave will be particularly intense in the provinces of Sindh and southern Balochistan.
In contrast, there is a possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms with rain in some areas of upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and Potohar with partly cloudy skies. This provides some relief from the current dry weather in these areas.
This morning, the following temperatures were recorded in several major cities: Islamabad at 20°C, Lahore at 28°C, Karachi at 29°C, Peshawar at 23°C, Quetta at 18°C, Gilgit at 11°C, and Murree at 13°C.
The current weather conditions are expected to persist, with little hope of relief for the hottest areas. Authorities advise residents to take precautions against the heat, such as drinking adequate amounts of water and avoiding going out during peak hours.
