Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Chinese Research Center and Pakistani Food Processor

A historic Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between Beijing Jinghua Center and Pakistani company Iftikhar Ahmed Food and Beverages Private Limited, marking a new chapter of agricultural cooperation between China and Pakistan.

This agreement was formalized during the Battery Energy Storage System and Agriculture B2B Investment Conference in Hangzhou, poised to revolutionize industrial tomato processing in Pakistan through the development and introduction of superior varieties.

In a bold move, the Chinese research institution will provide advanced industrial tomato varieties as part of the collaboration. This initiative marks the beginning of the research and development phase in Sindh, where extensive field and greenhouse trials will be conducted on six to seven potential tomato varieties.

Experts from both countries will contribute to the evaluation of these varieties to ensure the best outcomes. Beijing Jinghua Center will provide not only seed varieties but also advanced agricultural technology, modern farming methods, and essential technical expertise.

After successful testing, the selected seed variety will undergo the registration process in Pakistan, paving the way for agricultural productivity and economic growth in the region.
