Governor, Ethiopian Envoy Vow to Expand Economic Ties

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met with Ibrahim Khalid Tawab, Honorary Consul General of Ethiopia, at Governor House today to discuss various avenues for enhancing trade, investment and bilateral economic cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia.

During the meeting, the governor emphasized the need to further strengthen business-to-business engagement, exchange of trade delegations and industrial collaboration between the two countries. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic, trade and investment relations with Ethiopia and said that enhanced cooperation would create shared opportunities for growth and prosperity for the people of both nations.

On the occasion, Ibrahim Khalid Tawab stated that Ethiopia is among Africa’s rapidly growing economies and continues to maintain notable annual economic growth. He noted that Ethiopia represents a strong example of coexistence, mutual respect and harmony among diverse religions and cultures.

The Honorary Consul General highlighted that Ethiopia offers broad investment opportunities for Pakistani investors in sectors including surgical products, pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics and chemicals. He further said that Pakistan can enhance bilateral trade by increasing imports of coffee, oilseeds and other agricultural products from Ethiopia.
