BYC Chief Mah Rang Baloch, one other leader get life imprisonment in FC official killing case

The Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday sentenced Dr Mah Rang Baloch, the central organizer of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), and Subghatullah Shah, central leader of BYC, to life imprisonment in a case pertaining to the killing of an FC official during a rally in Gwadar.

The verdict was announced by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ahmed Mubeen in Quetta. The accused were charged with inciting violence during a BYC rally on July 29, 2024, in Gwadar, where participants attacked personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan deployed for security.

The attack, which involved stone-pelting and violence, resulted in the death of FC official Shabbir Baloch and left 16 other personnel injured.

A case was registered by the state under various sections, including terrorism, murder, and attempted murder. Among the accused, two named individuals, Central Organizer, Baloch Yekjehti Committee, Dr Mah Rang Baloch and central leader BYC, Subghatullah Shah, were arrested. However, three other accused, central Chairman Baloch Students Organization-BSO, Balach Qadir Baloch, central leader Abubakar Klansi, and Zahid Baloch, remain at large.
