Chief Minister Sohail Afridi emphasized that the measure of departmental performance will be public satisfaction. He stated that if public expectations are not met, even the most impressive presentation is meaningless.
Ministers have been instructed to visit at least seven districts each month to ensure direct contact with the public. The purpose of these visits is to facilitate direct communication with citizens and expedite the resolution of their issues. Furthermore, public complaints and their redressal will be reviewed daily, with a promise of strict action against those causing delays.
Every government department will establish a complaint cell, which will be coordinated with the Chief Minister’s complaint cell. The aim of this initiative is to streamline the process for the prompt resolution of public issues.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the immediate completion of key projects in line with Imran Khan’s vision, highlighting the government’s clear priorities in the annual development program. Departments have been instructed to ensure the timely completion of existing DFC schemes within the current fiscal year while setting clear timelines for new initiatives.
To enhance performance, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat requires results within 24 hours upon contact on any matter. This expectation is part of a broader effort to ensure accountability and responsibility within the government.
Strengthening communication and decision-making based on consultation, merit, and transparency was also highlighted. Departments are encouraged to develop communication strategies to effectively convey information to the public about government reforms and projects.
A performance review is scheduled after three months, after which future decisions regarding rewards and penalties based on adherence to these instructions will be made.
