Land adjacent to the shrine of Palejo taken into government custody. Next hearing set for July 21

A court in Thatta has intervened in the alleged land occupation incident near the shrine of Rasool Bux Palejo and ordered that the disputed half-acre area be placed under government supervision.

In today’s hearing held in the court of Thatta’s first civil judge, allegations were considered that the land, allocated for gatherings in honor of Rasool Bux Palejo, was forcibly occupied. The court has set the next hearing for July 21 and ordered the plaintiff to present evidence and provide legal representation.

Vasand Thari, central president of Awami Tehreek, senior lawyer Sajjad Chandio, and over 20 other legal professionals were present at the hearing. They claimed that the alleged occupiers are attempting to spread disorder and chaos in the community.

The accused, including Mazhar Palejo and Muzaffar Palejo, acknowledged their presence on the land but claimed it as their ancestral inheritance.

This legal development highlights the tension in Thatta regarding land rights and the protection of sites dedicated to historical figures.
