A large protest was held in Badin today when IBA pass candidates Action Committee expressed their dissatisfaction against the recent changes in the passing marks of IBA Sukkur teachers’ recruitment exam.
Hundreds of young candidates, men and women, gathered at Badin Press Club to express their dissatisfaction with the decision to lower the passing marks threshold from 55 to between 50 and 54. The protesters argued that this change unfairly excludes candidates who scored below 50, despite their competence and hard work.
Protest leaders, including Abdul Jabbar Jakhro, Aezaz Ali Memon, and others, expressed concern that the current policy does not recognize the achievements of candidates who scored between 50 and 54. They emphasized that capable individuals deserving of teaching positions are being overlooked.
The group demanded that Sindh’s Education Minister Sardar Shah immediately review this decision and adjust the passing marks to 54 to ensure equal opportunities for eligible youth. They also appealed to the government to implement a transparent, merit-based recruitment process for vacant teaching positions, which they believe is crucial for improving the educational system and ensuring a bright future for the region’s youth.
In a stern warning, the protesters announced that if their legitimate issues are not addressed, the movement will intensify, spreading from Badin to Bilawal House and across Sindh, and the responsibility will be placed on the relevant authorities.
