Continuation of hot and humid weather nationwide, possibility of thunderstorms and rain in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

The Meteorological Department has forecasted today that large parts of the country will continue to face hot and humid conditions. However, there might be hope for relief for residents in some northern areas, where strong winds and storms are expected in the evening and nighttime.

According to the forecast, there is a likelihood of severe rain and storms with adverse weather in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan. This change may provide temporary relief from the ongoing heat.

This morning, temperatures in several major cities reflected the intensity of the heat. Both Islamabad and Quetta recorded 24 degrees Celsius, while Lahore was slightly warmer with a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Karachi topped the chart with a high reading of 29 degrees Celsius, followed by Peshawar at 28 degrees Celsius. Cooler temperatures were noted in the northern areas, with Gilgit at a refreshing 19 degrees Celsius and Murree at 15 degrees Celsius. Muzaffarabad remained moderate at 23 degrees Celsius.

While the country faces more heat, residents in the northern parts may prepare for potential weather disruptions due to the forecasted storms. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions against sudden weather changes.
