A delegation from the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Karachi called on Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo to apprise him of the university’s worsening administrative and financial situation, particularly the non-payment of salaries to its employees.
According to an official information today, the delegation informed the provincial minister that the university was facing serious administrative challenges that had adversely affected its functioning. They highlighted that employees have not received their salaries, causing significant financial hardship and growing concerns among the university’s academic and non-academic staff.
Dharejo listened to the delegation’s concerns in detail and assured them that he would take up the matter with the relevant higher authorities. He pledged to extend all possible cooperation to help resolve the issues confronting the university.
The meeting comes at a time when the Federal Urdu University has been grappling with persistent financial and governance problems, including salary delays, administrative instability, and uncertainty over funding arrangements. The prolonged crisis has raised fears about its impact on academic activities, employee welfare, and the institution’s overall performance.
The provincial minister reiterated his commitment to facilitating dialogue with the concerned authorities to ensure that the university’s problems are addressed at the earliest.
