A young man, Javed Mari, died from an electric shock in the village of Mato Islami, near Kot Lalu. The deceased was identified as Javed Mari from Kundo Mori village, who was reportedly attempting to connect an illegal connection from an electricity pole.
According to local sources, Javed was trying to restore the power himself as the SEPCO team had not arrived to carry out the necessary repairs. However, this dangerous attempt turned fatal when the electricity supply was suddenly restored, resulting in his electrocution.
According to the police report, the young man was attempting to steal electricity when the tragic incident occurred. As per routine procedure, the authorities handed over the body of the deceased to his grieving family, after which scenes of grief and sorrow were witnessed when the body arrived at their home.
Javed Mari’s family has expressed deep concern, demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death. This incident raises important questions about SEPCO’s accountability and the wider issue of electricity theft in the area.
