Sibi district authorities seized thousands of tons of wheat and sealed three large storage warehouses during a major operation against hoarding. Assistant Commissioner Sibi Mansoor Ali Shah led the operation.
Heavy fines were imposed on the accused to prevent such behavior that creates artificial shortages of essential commodities. Shah said that exploitation of the public will not be tolerated.
A committee comprising representatives of relevant agencies will be formed to oversee the distribution of the seized wheat.
