In response to the federal government’s decision to impose taxes in Malakand Division, the Awami National Party (ANP) has called an urgent meeting on Monday, July 6, at 11:00 AM, which has caused serious concern among local leaders and residents.
On the instructions of Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain, General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai has summoned all district presidents and secretaries of Malakand Division to gather at Bacha Khan Center Peshawar on Monday, July 6, at 11:00 AM. Members of the provincial cabinet will also be included in the meeting, who are expected to extensively deliberate on launching a protest movement against the taxation policy.
The meeting’s agenda focused on devising a strategy against the federal initiative, which many local stakeholders consider a burden. ANP leadership has emphasized the importance of attendance and punctuality, urging all members to ensure their presence as the party prepares to address this contentious issue.
This development marks a critical moment for Malakand Division, as the enforcement of taxes could have wide-ranging impacts on the region’s economic situation. ANP’s response is likely to play a significant role in shaping future debates around this policy.
