Armed men attack PTI Senator Khurram Zeeshan’s house in Peshawar; guard injured in firing

The residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Khurram Zeeshan in Hayatabad was allegedly attacked by a large group of armed men, resulting in the injury of a security guard.

A press release issued today by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central information department stated that the attack was carried out by approximately 20 to 25 armed individuals who arrived in a convoy of five Vigo vehicles.

PTI condemned the incident “in the strongest possible terms,” calling it a “cowardly attack” and “despicable tactics.” The PTI statement said that the attack was carried out in response to speaking the truth, and stressed that “targeting those who speak the truth in this manner is a clear indication that the truth has instilled fear in the hearts of certain elements.”

The statement also expressed the party’s prayers for the full recovery of the injured guard and for the safety and security of Senator Zeeshan and his family.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf expressed confidence that the provincial government will take all necessary steps to investigate the motives of the incident and to identify the individuals involved.

The party added that the public expects the immediate arrest of those responsible, stressing that it is essential to bring them to justice to prevent such incidents in the future and to restore the confidence of the citizens.
