Shikarpur police on Monday recovered the body of a notorious dacoit Nadir Mirani, 24 hours after he was killed in an armed clash near Faizoo Laaro, near Khanpur.
According to a police report, the incident unfolded when a group of armed men ambushed the Vigo vehicle of former Sindh MPA Sardar Meer Ghalib Khan Domki on Sunday night. The attack had resulted in the death of two guards and injuries to Sardar Meer Ghalib Khan Domki, his wife, grandson, and another guard.
During the exchange of fire, the guards managed to kill notorious bandit Nadir Mirani and injured his accomplices. The assailants took advantage of the darkness to escape, carrying the body of the slain dacoit and their injured accomplices.
Following the attack, Shikarpur Police launched a search operation, cordoning off the area. Their efforts led them to a freshly dug grave in Sultan Kamalani Jatoi village. Upon exhuming the grave, police recovered the body of bandit Nadir Mirani and shifted it to Taluka Hospital Khanpur for necessary formalities.
The tragic incident has underscored the deteriorating law and order situation in Shikarpur district. Reports suggest that Sardar Meer Ghalib Khan Domki, accompanied by his family, was traveling from Sukkur to Bakhshapur when the attack occurred near Mirza Wah irrigation canal on the Shikarpur-Kandhkot Indus Highway.
