Awami celebrates birth anniversary of party’s late founder Rasool Bux Palijo

Awami Tahreek leaders reaffirmed their commitment to never compromise on the rights of Sindh and to continue his ideological struggle, during a ceremony held on Tuesday on the occasion of the 96th birth anniversary of the party’s late founder Rasool Bux Palijo.

The commemorative ceremony, held at Palijo’s mausoleum in Jungshahi, was led by the party’s Thatta district president, Razzaq Chandio. A large number of party officials and workers attended the event.

Participants included central senior leader Dada Abdul Qadir Ranto, as well as central leaders Noor Nabi Palijo, Shah Muhammad Chang, Bilawal Lashari, Riaz Abbasi, Ayub Unar, Ghulam Ali Zounr, Darya Khan Zounr, Tehmina Lashari, and Saira Razzaq.

A floral wreath was laid at his mausoleum to pay tribute to the late intellectual, and a birthday cake was cut in his memory. A formal salute was also presented to honor the esteemed leader.

Addressing the gathering, speakers recalled Palijo’s lifelong struggle for the rights of Sindh, national sovereignty, democracy, and the supremacy of the constitution. They highlighted his role as a voice for the oppressed and his steadfastness in the face of imprisonment and other hardships, stating that he never wavered from his principles.

Party officials said that Palijo’s political philosophy, based on principles and public rights, is a lasting beacon for the youth of Sindh.

The Awami Tahreek leadership expressed their resolve to keep Palijo’s ideology alive and to continue the struggle to protect the province’s resources, land, and the rights of its people.
