A large number of citizens are unable to secure their basic rights due to a lack of information about accessing justice-providing institutions, said Regional Director Ombudsman Thatta, Haroon Ahmed Khan, during an awareness seminar held at a Makli school in Thatta.

Addressing the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Makli today, Regional Director Ombudsman Thatta, Haroon Ahmed Khan, emphasized that the Ombudsman’s office is actively working to provide swift and fair justice to the public without the need for legal representation.

Khan informed the students that the institution was established for the impartial, free, and prompt resolution of public grievances. He detailed its purpose and jurisdiction, explaining that the office addresses a wide range of administrative issues.

These cases include injustice by government departments, maladministration, negligence of officials, unnecessary delays in public services, and illegal hurdles in obtaining public records. Its jurisdiction covers administrative irregularities in police, education, health, municipal services, and other sectors where public complaints are overlooked.

The Regional Director highlighted the simplicity of the process, stating that citizens can initiate action against any provincial department by simply writing a complaint on a piece of paper. “Our doors are always open for anyone seeking justice,” he assured the audience.

During the event, the school administration also presented their issues, for which the Regional Director assured his support in resolving them.

Other speakers at the seminar included Assistant Commissioner Thatta, Shakir Faheem, and Senior Headmaster Ghulam Nabi Khushk. The event was attended by Sub-Registrar Muhammad Hanif Panhwar, Headmaster Ali Farhan Shaikh, and numerous other officials, teachers, and students.
