Quetta:Technical officials of Balochistan Archery Association be included in the “Archery Management Committee” constituted for 34th national games and trials of archers for competing in the national games’ archery event be conducted afresh otherwise strong protest movement would be started.
These demands were made in the protest demonstration held under the auspices of Balochistan Archery Association (Regd) here on Tuesday.
They regretted that Abu Bakr Achakzai won gold medal while Sanaullah Nurzai won silver medal in the archery event held under “First Balochistan Games, 2023” arranged by Government of Balochistan, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, but those brilliant archers were not invited to take part in the trials conducted covertly for selection of archers for 34th national games, 2023.
They said that the authorities of Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Balochistan had been held hostage by a so-called Balochistan Olympic Association which could be judged from the fact that trials for selecting archers for competing in National Games, 2023 were conducted secretly.
They said that no technical official of Balochistan Archery Association, a registered association with Balochistan Sports Board, Quetta, was included in the Archery Management Committee for 34th national games, 2023.
They called on Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Balochistan, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili to get the technical officials of Balochistan Archery Association included in the archery management committee constituted for 34th national games, 2023 besides conducting trials of archers afresh.
