A critical week-long polio vaccination campaign begins Monday in Balochistan, targeting vulnerable areas to combat the virus”s spread and safeguard children. The Provincial Polio Emergency Operation Center announced the initiative, aiming to inoculate over half a million children under five with fractional Inactivated Polio Vaccine. The youngsters will also receive oral polio drops to bolster their immunity.
The operation will encompass 123 high-risk union councils, including regions within Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Dera Bugti, Duki, Zhob, and Qila Abdullah districts. This focused approach seeks to disrupt transmission in areas considered most susceptible to the crippling disease.
