IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon on Saturday attended a “Bara Khana” organized in Hyderabad in recognition of the services of police officers and personnel. Upon his arrival at the Police Headquarters, he was given a general salute and was warmly welcomed by officers and personnel. The event was also attended by senior officers from various government departments.
At the gathering, comedian Ali Gul Mallah presented a sketch featuring modern initiatives like e-ticketing. Additionally, Traffic Police Officer and Presidential award-winning Alghoza player Arbab Allah Bachayo Khoso and other artists entertained the audience with their performances. On this occasion, a documentary showcasing the projects of Sindh Police and the services of IG Sindh was also screened.
During the ceremony, DIG Hyderabad and Commissioner Hyderabad, along with SSPs, presented shields to IG Sindh. DIG Hyderabad praised IG Sindh’s vision for transformation, which has made the police uniform a symbol of trust and respect. Reforms such as transparent accountability, modern training, and community policing have significantly enhanced the institution’s role in public service.
Before his departure, IG Sindh emphasized the importance of interacting with the personnel. He described Hyderabad as a significant point in his career, where the first digital investigation cell was established, modernizing the investigative process through technology.
IG Sindh highlighted the crucial role of CCTV in crime investigation and encouraged officers to adopt this technology for public safety. He acknowledged the joint efforts of Sindh Police and Rangers in establishing peace and remembered the sacrifices of the martyrs. He stressed that it is the duty of law enforcement agencies to help those in need, and that genuine public respect, not fear, is the true measure of police success.
He highlighted insurance schemes and welfare projects as the result of the personnel’s hard work and thanked the Sindh government. The event concluded with the inauguration of the “Shaheed Inspector Ghulam Mustafa Qureshi Administration Block” at the RRF office.
