Baseball Expands to Karachi: A New Era Begins

: In a groundbreaking move for Pakistan’s sports landscape, the Pakistan Federation Baseball has announced plans to promote and develop baseball in Karachi. On May 29, key officials, including Secretary General Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, met with Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana’s sports leadership to discuss the initiative. This collaboration aims to tap into Karachi’s vast potential as a business hub and populous city to cultivate new baseball talent.

During the meeting, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana’s management congratulated Syed Fakhar Ali Shah and the Pakistan team on their recent silver medal win at the 16th West Asia Baseball Cup in Iran. The gymkhana assured full support for baseball’s growth in Karachi. Shah expressed optimism about the venture, highlighting plans to introduce baseball and develop new players, especially pitchers, from Karachi’s thriving community.

‘Our goal is simple,’ remarked Syed Fakhar Ali Shah. ‘Karachi rises in baseball, Sindh follows, and Pakistan shines. We aim to build future national players from here and attract strong sponsors to support the game.’ The initiative, dubbed “Naya Pitcher from Naya Nazimabad,” seeks support from prominent figures like Mr. Arif Habib and Mr. Abdus Samad Habib to drive the project forward.
