BISP’s Misbehavior with Senior Journalist in Talhar

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) staff harassed a senior journalist, snatched his mobile phone, and prevented him from media coverage, an incident that media advocates are calling a direct attack on press freedom.

The incident has sparked a wave of outrage among the journalistic community and civil society organizations. The New Press Club has issued a strong statement condemning the officer’s actions as an unacceptable infringement on journalistic rights.

In response, a coalition of journalists and social activists has called on higher authorities, including the DC Badin, AC – SHO Talhar, and senior management of BISP, to intervene immediately. They have urged for immediate action against the accused officer.
