An armed burglar shot dead a man and left four others injured during a theft intention in a village near Rohri in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to a police report, the incident occurred in village Abdul Samad Panhwar, where an unidentified burglar entered the house of Amanullah Panhwar with the intent to commit theft, but the family members offered resistance. As a result, the thief opened indiscriminate fire, killing 35-year-old Ghulam Akbar Panhwar and injuring four inmates.
The deceased’s body was shifted to Taluka Hospital Rohri for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. Panic gripped the area soon after the incident. This incident highlights the rising crime rate and deteriorating law and order situation in the region.
