Christian Councillors meets Mayor Karachi

Karachi, March 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said KMC will arrange for cleanliness and proper lighting around churches on the occasion of Easter on 1st April. All citizens including those belongs to minorities are equal for us and therefore we want betterment and progress in each and every area of the city. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation comprising of city councillors from Christian community who called on the Mayor and requested him to direct the concerned departments to ensure better sanitation and proper lighting system around the churches located in different parts of Karachi.

Parliamentary leader in the council of KMC Aslam Shah Afridi, Chairman Works Committee Hassan Naqvi, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Asghar Abbas and other officers were also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi said minorities living in Karachi have all the right to celebrate their religious occasions and the citizens of Karachi would also participate their moments to show the unity and harmony among the people.

He said KMC consider this its prime responsibility to provide for better municipal facilities to the people on their religious days to enable them to celebrate their festivities in a befitting manner. He said all the people are equal to us and we want to provide them best of civic facilities. Mayor Karachi said on 25th December he went to the Saint Patrick Church in Saddar to wish the Christian Community on the eve of Christmas and also met with the Bishop Joseph Coutts and father Saleh Diego and perish Mario Rodriguez to deliver the well wishes of the citizens of Karachi on this big day.
