CM aide pays surprise visits to wheat warehouses in Hyderabad

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh for Food, Abdul Jabbar Khan today paid surprise visits to wheat warehouses in Hyderabad, where he directed officials to ensure transparency in the wheat procurement process.

Addressing officials, the CM aide said that effective measures should be taken to protect the stored wheat from rats and other pests. He also insisted on maintaining cleanliness and proper upkeep of the facilities.

Khan warned that strict action would be taken in case of any negligence or shortcomings, stressing that such measures were necessary to ensure transparency in the wheat procurement process and preserve the stability of Sindh’s agriculture.

He also underscored the significance of the Indus River, stating, “We exist because of the Indus River,” and reiterated that any illegal activity related to the river would not be tolerated. His remarks came in the wake of the Sindh Assembly’s unanimous resolution opposing amendments to the Irsa Act.

Khan further emphasized that no further water distribution from the Indus would occur without the approval of the province’s citizens and the Sindh Assembly.
