LARKANA: Residents of Sikander Colony of Larkana city staged a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Thursday against the alleged atrocities of the money-lenders.

Speaking on that occasion, private taxi driver Mohammad Mithal Dahot, along with his mother Ghulam Fatima, son Arsalan, sisters Shahzadi Khatoon, Bilqis Khatoon and others, alleged that his brother Mohammad Khan Dahot was a cashier at Askari CNG located on Station Road in the city, whose manager Ansar Chano and another man Aijaz Memon, gave money to his brother on interest without informing them and filed a false case of giving fake checks against his brother along with him six months ago.

The police arrested his brother Muhammad Khan and sent him to jail and he obtained bail, he added. The influential people demanded payment of interest money from him and on his refusal, they forcibly occupied his and his brother’s house and filed a petition in the court against both of them. He further alleged that influential Ansar Chano and Ijaz Memon were demanding interest payment and on failure to pay them, they were issuing them life threats and lodging of more false cases.

He said that after the occupation of the house, they had been forced to live a life of poverty and homelessness. He appealed to IG Police Sindh, DIG and SSP Larkana and other officials to take notice of the matter and take legal action against the influential moneylenders to end the occupation of the places and do justice.
