Bhimber, September 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): A big protest demonstration was organised by political, social and human rights groups in Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, against the Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir. The demonstration was led by Hurriyat leader, Engineer Mushtaq Mehmood, Advocate Mehmood Qureshi, Muhammad Aslam Malik and Majid Irshad of Pak-Kashmir Solidarity Forum.
The Hurriyat leaders addressing the demonstration held at UN Observer Office highlighted Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility regarding settlement of the Kashmir dispute to ensure peace in the region. Local leaders of different groups including the office-holders of Press Club, Bhimber, who organised the protest, extended their full support to the Kashmir cause.
On the occasion a memorandum was also handed over to the UN observers with an appeal that the UN must interfere to settle the Kashmir dispute under present critical situation when Kashmiris are without food, medicine and other facilities. The UN was also reminded in the memorandum that it must give priority to the settlement of Kashmir dispute to avoid a nuclear catastrophe in the region.
