The Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan, Robert-Jan Seigert, visited the head office of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) and met with the company’s leadership team to discuss the organization’s progress, the broader outlook of Pakistan’s dairy sector, and opportunities for future growth and investment in the industry.
During the meeting today, the FCEPL leadership provided an overview of the company’s performance, ongoing initiatives, and future business growth potential. The discussion explored the evolving landscape of Pakistan’s dairy sector, including its capacity for expansion and modernization. The participants also exchanged views on the role of local talent in supporting industry development. They highlighted the importance of skills development, the long-term contribution of Pakistani professionals to the sector, and potential areas for future investment, with a focus on sustainable growth and strengthening Pakistan’s dairy value chain.
Speaking to the attendees, the Dutch Ambassador said that Pakistan’s dairy sector presented significant opportunities for development, supported by a capable workforce and an increasing focus on modern practices. He added that ensuring access to safe dairy products, particularly for children, and encouraging a shift away from loose milk consumption remained important for public health. He further said it was encouraging to see FCEPL contributing positively to these efforts and to the long-term sustainability of the dairy sector.
Kashan Hasan, Managing Director of FCEPL, speaking on the occasion, said that it was an honour to host the Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan and share the company’s vision for the future of the country’s dairy industry. He said that dairy was more than just an industry; it was a source of nutrition and livelihoods for millions of Pakistanis. He added that FCEPL looked forward to working with the Ambassador’s office to strengthen its engagement with key government bodies and stakeholders to further develop Pakistan’s dairy industry, make safe, high-quality, and nutritious dairy products accessible to millions more people across the country, and bring FrieslandCampina’s vision of “Nourishing by Nature” to life.
As part of the visit, the Ambassador also addressed employees during a town hall session. The interaction focused on the potential of Pakistani talent and the opportunities within the dairy sector. Employees engaged in a productive dialogue on industry growth and their role in shaping its future.
The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of continued engagement among stakeholders to support the development of Pakistan’s dairy industry, along with a shared commitment to providing safe and nutritious milk for future generations in Pakistan.
