Eight killed, 20 injured in traffic accident near Dadu

DADU: Eight people were were killed and 20 others injured when a bus collided with an oil tanker and a minu-truck on Indus Highway near Manjhand and Dadu early Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the bus was going from Larkana to Karachi when accident happened. On receiving information, police and rescue teams reached to the accident site and launched a rescue operation. The injured were shifted to LUMHS Jamshoro and Manjhand hospital. The identity of the vicims could not be ascertained yet.

The police said that the accident occurred due to over taking while further investigation into the accident was underway.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and directed the Commissioner Hyderabad to ensure provision of better medical facilities to the injured.
