Eight people were killed and over 15 others injured when members of Tagar community returning after attending a marriage ceremony in Hyderabad met a tragic road accident near Moro on Monday.
According to police and hospital sources, a fast-moving van collided with a truck near Shahpur Jahanian in Taluka Moro. As a result, eight people, including women and children, lost their lives and more than 15 others suffered injuries, some of them critically.
Among the deceased were a child, Ali Muhammad, son of Hameed Tagar; a young girl, Toti; a youth, Zaheer, son of Mehruddin Tagar; and Shareefan, wife of Ali Nawaz Tagar. The victims were returning to Naushahro Feroze after attending the wedding of Dr Paryal Tagar’s son in Hyderabad. The accident occurred near Shahpur Jehanian bypass due to overspeeding, officials said.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Taluka Hospital Moro for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. However, owing to inadequate facilities at the hospital, some of the injured were referred to hospitals in Nawabshah and Hyderabad.
