Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future, highlighting their potential to introduce innovative solutions.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Isra University, Hyderabad, he praised the university’s contributions and lauded students’ innovative projects showcased at the event. ‘Isra University is doing commendable work for Hyderabad. Our youth are full of talent and must be encouraged to bring pride to the nation,’ he remarked.
The minister underscored the Sindh government’s success in renewable energy, citing its leadership in wind energy production and the revival of the Thar Coal Project, initiated by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. “Today, thousands of megawatts of electricity are being generated from Thar coal, ensuring affordable energy for the country,” he stated.
To boost youth employment, he announced plans to launch EV taxis on easy installments, allowing young people to earn a dignified livelihood. Minister Memon detailed Sindh’s transport projects, including the People’s Bus Service operational in major cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Larkana.
He highlighted the introduction of Pakistan’s first electric bus service and the women-exclusive Pink Bus Service. Future plans include expanding BRT services to Hyderabad and launching double-decker buses in the province.
The minister called for increased student enrollment and modern education in AI and other advanced technologies. He warned against the misuse of technology for harmful purposes, emphasizing that protests should remain within ethical bounds.
The Sindh government is committed to its anti-drug campaign, he added, urging youth and media to actively support these efforts. ‘We have launched a jihad against drugs, and this will continue with full force,’ he affirmed.
