Ex-PM visits SU, says AI is future

Former caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar today visited University of Sindh where he was accorded a warm welcome.

Speaking at the seminar titled ‘Our Youth: Pillars of National Unity,’ organized at the university, Mr Kakar lauded the university’s unique spirit, describing it as a symbol of Pakistan’s diversity and unity. ‘What I have seen here is truly inspiring. It feels like I am at the heart of Pakistan,’ he said.

Kakar called on the youth to harness their talents for national progress.

On the challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI), Kakar said: ‘AI is the future, and our youth must adapt to these technological shifts to lead the way responsibly.”

The ex-PM highlighted the need for courage and self-belief, urging students to rise above fears and inferiority complexes. He also called for deweaponization to promote peace and dialogue. ‘The rule of law is the only path to sustained harmony,’ he stressed.

Discussing gender equality, he advocated for tailored solutions to reimagine traditional roles and ensure balanced societal contributions. He also urged the private sector to support young talent through opportunities and internships. Kakar said dialogue, not confrontation, would strengthen Pakistan’s unity.

The event concluded with traditional gifts of Sindhi caps and Ajrak presented to Kakar, who expressed his gratitude for the warm reception.
