A total of 72 aspiring hockey players from Karachi have been shortlisted to advance to the final provincial trials for the 35th National Games after a highly competitive selection process. The event saw a massive turnout of local talent, with 48 boys and 24 girls earning a coveted spot for the next stage of evaluations for the Sindh team.

The Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) organized the crucial tryouts at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah KHA Sports Complex. The rigorous selection was conducted under the careful supervision of a distinguished panel led by Selection Committee Chairman Olympian Iftekhar Syed.

The committee also included notable figures from the sport such as Olympian Waseem Feroz and international players Laiq Lashari, Tasleem Usmani, and Salaman Sheikh. The proceedings were also observed by District Sports Officer Ismail Shah, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of the participants.

A significant number of athletes participated in the event, with over 100 male and 50 female players vying for a position. The high attendance underscored the strong interest in field hockey within the region.

Top officials from the association were present to bolster the morale of the aspirants. KHA President Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah attended the evaluations to motivate the athletes, while Asma Ali Shah, President of the KHA Women Wing, was also on-site to encourage the female participants.

The final trials for the Sindh Girls team are now set for Saturday, October 11th, at 3:00 pm. The Sindh Boys team selections will follow on Sunday, October 12th, at 3:00 pm at the same venue. The KHA extended its congratulations to the chosen players, wishing them success in the upcoming provincial selections.
