MIRPUR KHAS: In Mirpur Khas, four people have died of dengue within last 20 days while more than 42 persons have been infected by this lethal disease, according to a PPI report on Wednesday.
According to the report, the mosquito-spray in various areas of the city has not been effective, and dengue has now taken an epidemic form.
The dengue has now become prevalent in Mirpur Khas, with reports of four fatalities from different areas, including Sindhri and Old Mirpur.
The Mirpur Khas Health Department sources revealed that after tests conducted in various private laboratories, the dengue virus has been found in more than 42 individuals.
Concerns have arisen as surveys in different areas have revealed that mosquito spraying has not been carried out in most regions, and residents have not been provided with mosquito nets.
In areas where mosquito spraying has been conducted, it has not proven beneficial. Due to the rise in the mosquito population, residents are also suffering from malaria and other diseases besides dengue.
The citizens of Mirpur Khas have demanded immediate and effective mosquito-spraying efforts from Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rashid Masood and Mayor Rauf Ghori to ensure the safety of the residents from malaria and dengue.
