Islamabad, January 12, 2023 (PPI-OT):Chairman Friends of Kashmir International Ghazala Habib and Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone have welcomed the launch of the Urdu version of UN News, saying that it will expand the reach of the UN to Urdu-speaking audiences around the world. The United Nations has issued an Urdu version exclusively for South Asians, which implies the United Nations is seriously focusing on the problems of South Asian countries, the said in a joint statement.
Ghazala Habib and Abdul Hameed said that the UN should also keep its promise made to Kashmiris 75 years ago, according to which the Kashmiris were guaranteed their right to self-determination. It may be noted that the United Nations has launched the Urdu version of its UN News, a multilingual portal to provide in-depth news coverage and information on UN-related issues.
