A driver who allegedly fled after a deadly crash on the Murree Expressway, which claimed the lives of 10 members of a family from Multan, has been arrested, officials said on Friday.
A spokesperson for the Motorway Police said the suspect was taken into custody at PIMS Hospital following a tip-off and later handed over to Murree Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The spokesperson added that a formal case had been registered at Murree Police Station on the complaint of the Motorway Police.
Police said the accident took place near the PTDC tourist point in Kajot when a van reportedly lost control and collided with a roadside safety barrier.
The vehicle subsequently caught fire after its fuel tank exploded, resulting in the deaths of all 10 passengers, who belonged to the same family and were travelling together in the van.
