Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday paid tribute to Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah on her 59th death anniversary, describing her as an enduring symbol of courage, honesty and democratic ideals.
Gilani said Fatima Jinnah remained a steadfast companion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah throughout the Pakistan Movement and later played a pivotal role in advancing democracy, constitutional governance and the rights of citizens.
He said her contributions to women’s empowerment, national cohesion and public welfare continue to inspire generations of Pakistanis, urging young people to emulate her integrity, patriotism and commitment to democratic values.
The acting president said the nation would continue to seek inspiration from her unwavering dedication to public service, unity and democracy.
He also prayed that Allah Almighty grant Fatima Jinnah the highest ranks in the Hereafter and enable Pakistanis to uphold the principles and ideals for which she devoted her life.
